It wouldn't be a good ending to the year without speculation about yet another new Apple product. Rumors of an Apple iPhone nano have run rampant in recent months and resurfaced as silicone-mold cases designed for iPhone nanos have appeared on the Internet. Vaja, a case manufacturer, listed the iPhone nano on its Web site among products for which it provides accessories. Since reports of the listing hit the Internet, however, the iPhone nano listing has disappeared.

Panasonic plans to unveil a networking system that can connect an electric car to home devices via electrical wiring at January's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The electric car networking prototype allows people and devices inside the home to check on an electric vehicle while it is being recharged. It will be one of several research developments on show at the HD-PLC Alliance stand in the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall, Panasonic said Friday.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Wal-Mart will start selling Apple's popular iPhone on Sunday, the chain said, confirming earlier reports by employees. Bentonville-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will become the second independent retail chain after Best Buy Inc. to sell the phone. It is also sold at Apple Inc. and AT&T Inc. stores.

SYDNEY, Australia - A proposed Internet filter dubbed the "Great Aussie Firewall" is promising to make Australia one of the strictest Internet regulators among democratic countries.
Consumers, civil-rights activists, engineers, Internet providers and politicians from opposition parties are among the critics of a mandatory Internet filter that would block at least 1,300 Web sites prohibited by the government mostly child pornography, excessive violence, instructions in crime or drug use and advocacy of terrorism.

BOSTON (Reuters) - Research In Motion Ltd is suing Motorola Inc, alleging that the mobile phone company improperly blocked the BlackBerry maker from hiring current and laid-off Motorola employees.
The suit, filed in state court in Chicago on Tuesday, comes three months after Motorola alleged that RIM violated an agreement reached in February that the two companies would not solicit each other's employees.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sprint Nextel Corp. on Wednesday unveiled a new laptop modem that will allow users to switch between the company's normal cellular network and the new high-speed WiMax network.
The Overland Park, Kan.-based wireless carrier said the USB Modem U300 will go on sale Sunday in Baltimore, the only market where Sprint is currently offering the so-called fourth-generation wireless service under the Xohm brand.
