Piel
Frama Leather phone cases
We enjoyed
reviewing Piel Frama's last batch
of products. In fact we went around
recommending these to anyone who
wanted a classy cover for their
cell phone. Read about the last
review here. I did have one complaint
though, the range of products for
which covers had been sent were
very limited and not even all the
popular products had been covered.
Accordingly we wrote to Piel Frama
who were more than happy to send
us more stuff. We were delighted
to have covers for the ever popular
Nokia 6600. |

When it comes
to making covers and cases, Proporta
is no amateur. They have been in
business since 1996. In fact they
dont limit themselves to just cases,
they specialise in PDAs and have
over 700 PDA accessories. Their
website is a must visit especially
because of their new product meant
for the iPod and HD5 walkman (they
have options of silicon case and
a Alu-Leather case). They even have
a leather wallet that has special
storage space for memory cards,
nice idea since I always misplace
mine after removing from the device. |

Ericsson W800
The Sony
Ericsson W800. This sentence which
contains nothing more then the name
of a cell phone has created curiosity
and hype across the continents of
our planet. After all Sony is the
company that brought us the "Walkman"
the term which redefined music allowing
fans to carry their music with them
literally everywhere and which unlike
the boom box did not disturb anyone
else. |

8800
"S*it
Expensive" is the thought that
crosses ones mind immediately after
looking and longing after the Nokia
8800. The handset is a looker with
its stainless steel covers - one
will give it that but thats not
it. Its also a triband GSM handset
(GSM 900 / 1800 /1900) , which means
you could take it along anywhere
on the planet and make it work.
Besides GPRS, we even have EDGE
support this time which really speeds
up things. |

O2
XDA IIs
O2 has a
big brand name in the industry and
with good reason. The company has
so far made consumers happier with
every new release. They actively
listen to feedback and actually
work on it for their next products.
The end result is that people love
O2 phone PDA's. The XDA I and the
XDA II enjoyed immense popularity.
With the lineage already boasting
of such heavyweights, it was just
a matter of time that the next inheritor
would be brought out. |

Nokia
6680
The Nokia
6680 is the first dual camera 3G
handset from Nokia. It improves
upon the Nokia 6630 which was widely
criticised due to several shortcomings.
In looks and features its just a
remake of the 6630; however in working
its much more preferable over the
6630. |

7280
The Nokia
7280 is like the Batmobile. Looking
at it you "want to get me one
of those" but if you try driving
her you appreciate that only the
billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne
has enough resources to handle her.
The 7280 looks cute, has a sophisticated
design and beautiful colors (black
with white lines). However it pays
its price for style by sacrificing
ease of use. |

The xCute
DV1 happens to be the first GSM
phone with a 3 Mega pixel camera.
The form factor (clamshell) is great
and along with the bright orange
color that we got for review, the
phone looks really cool. But its
far from perfect, despite the 30
fps video taking capability; the
DV1 looses out on connectivity. |

Frama Leathercase for Blackberry

We have had
occassion to review a leather case
of the Blackberry, from a company
called Piel Frama. Before the review
was over, we came to know lots of
things about the care and craft
that goes into the making of each
case. So if you value your device,
be sure to read this review. |

SGH D500
Presenting
the revival of the Samsung phones,
the D500 (the first pone from Samsung
to have Bluetooth) finally makes
it a pleasure to review Samsung
phones again. Taking a break from
their usual run of the mill clamshells,
the D500 finally shows that Samsung
can design handsets and make them
just as well as the other contenders
for the top spot in the best cell
phone makers race. |

Sony
Ericsson P910
This is basically a P900 with plenty
of upgrades such as a QWERTY keypad,
unfortunately not everything that
we wanted has been included in the
new release. The P910 still does
not have a megapixel camera but
the display is now a stunning 262,000
colors. Sony Ericsson is collaborating
with a wide range of e-mail providers,
which makes the P910 the perfect
e-mail platform, as in addition
to Smartner it also supports IBM,
Extended Systems, Visto, RIM BlackBerry,
Seven and IntelliSync. The phone
will be released in several versions
each intended for a different market.
The P910a for America (850/1800/1900Mhz)
; the P910c for China (900/1800/1900Mhz).

Nokia
9500 Communicator
Like the
earlier Communicators, the latest
in the series has a simple motive;
to have every thing that has been
put in any other handset and then
some. This ensures that the executive
who will carry this 222 gms giant
is never out of touch. A sure to
be best seller, the Nokia 9500 shows
SonyEricsson that they are still
the boss. |

Motorola
MPx
One of the
most anticipated phones of 2004,
the Mpx has everything one can ask
for. With a unique form factor it
has a touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard.
It is powered by Windows Mobile
OS. It has a megapixel camera with
Flash and a hot swappable MMC Card
slot. It is triband GSM with IM
client, Email client, Pocket Internet
explorer. The Mpx excels in connectivity
with WiFi, Bluetooth and Infrared.
However the Mpx has its drawbacks
one is the heavy price and low memory. |

Sony
Ericsson S700
With a swivel
form factor the S700 has a large
256k color display, Memory stick
slot, FM Radio, and Mp3 player.
The S 700 also has the Quick Share
technology which makes it childs
play to use the imaging features.
The S 700 is also the one with the
most curiosity value for the user
owing to its unique swivel factor.
Not to be confused with the folder
factor handsets, the s700 swivels
180 degrees to reveal the keypad.
Thus the small dimensions of the
phone allow both a huge screen as
well as a comfortable keypad. |
